Some puppies leave with toys and blankets. Nelson left with something even more special: a purpose.

Nelson's family came to us through the owner of his Sire. They had shared many wonderful years with a beloved Cavalier therapy dog. Sadly he was lost to a devastating illness. After taking time to heal, they decided it was finally time to welcome another Cavalier into their lives.

They hoped to find a tricolor puppy that reminded them of their special boy. And when they met Nelson, they saw that sparkle in his eyes and the same sweet gentle disposition.
Nelson has settled beautifully into his new family. He adores the grandchildren, loves going for walks, and enjoys exploring new places.

Nelson has already begun some therapy training experiances, and is quickly learning the ropes. Even at a young age, he has shown the kind and comforting personality that makes Cavaliers such wonderful therapy dogs.
His mom plans to focus much of her therapy work in behavioral health, helping others through the unique comfort and connection that dogs provide. One of the things that makes me really happy is knowing that one day Nelson may even visit me at St. Marks Hospital, while we are both working there.

Life is looking very bright for Nelson. He has found a loving family, a meaningful purpose, and a future filled with adventures, children, walks, and countless opportunities to make people smile.
We could not be more thrilled with the home and family Nelson has found. He is loved beyond measure and already beginning the important work he was meant to do.

Some puppies chase butterflies, and some chase tennis balls. Nelson seems destined to chase smiles.
